The Maltese Bichon is a breed known for its lush, silky soft coat. Given this characteristic, its coat requires special daily care to keep it clean and free from tangles.

BRUSHING: It is recommended to brush daily with a brush or matting comb and a metal-toothed comb. A moisturising spray or dry conditioner can be used to make brushing easier and to avoid breaking the coat. It is essential to ensure that the dog's coat is virtually tangle-free before bathing, as water can tighten knots and make it difficult to untangle them later.

LACRIMAL: It is recommended to use a specific tear comb to gently cleanse this area and a cleanser to remove brown spots that may accumulate around the eyes. An adequate and balanced diet specific to white cloaks such as that of "Nature's Protection" can also help to maintain the health of the coat and prevent the formation of spots.

BATHING: It is recommended to bathe him every two to three weeks with moisturising shampoo and conditioner specifically for dogs. Avoid bleaching shampoos as they dry out the coat and be sure to rinse the coat thoroughly with lukewarm water. For cleaning paws, you can use dry shampoos or special wipes. We advise you to get your dog used to it from puppyhood so that it feels comfortable and does not get stressed.

DRYING: In the initial towel drying, it is important to remove excess water with gentle touches rather than rubbing with the towel so that tangles do not form. The same will happen with the dryer, it should be at a low temperature with the help of a card and following the direction of the hair to send tangles.
