Dear readers and animal lovers.

We are very pleased that the premiere of this first post in the ‘Pets in the Canary Islands’ blog is to talk about a cause as beautiful as this one.

Glovo Mascota, the pet care and walking service we all know and love, in collaboration with our specialised pet shop Animal Park and Clinica Veterinaria Más Que Huellas, has launched a project to collect material to help Ada Gran Canaria, a non-profit association that works tirelessly to protect and care for pets in need in our community.

You can collaborate with this noble cause by donating any pet supplies you have at home and no longer use. In addition, Ada Gran Canaria has shared a list of current needs including:

  • CAT SAND (this is very much needed, the more the better)
  • LAUNDRY DETERGENT
  • DISHWASHER
  • SWEEPING BRUSHES
  • POOP BAGS FOR STROLLERS
  • TOUGH CHEWERS (important for puppies suffering from high cage anxiety)
  • LARGE RUBBISH BAGS
  • SCRUBBERS
  • ESTROPAJOS
  • SMELL CARPET
  • INTERACTIVE GAMES
  • LARGE-SIZED KONG
  • LONG STRAPS LONGER THAN 2.5/3 METRES
  • MEDICINES THAT THEY NO LONGER USE AND THAT CAN BE USED IN PUPPIES.
  • EAR CLEANERS

The initiative will run for the first two weeks of May, starting on Thursday, 2 May, with the last day to donate on Wednesday, 15 May

To facilitate your collaboration, we provide you with the addresses of both partners:

Our Animal Park shop is located in calle Canalejas n°61 and the veterinary centre Más Que Huellas is located in calle Cebrián n°43. Both are in the Arenales area.

Finally, we encourage you to share this initiative of solidarity with your friends, family and followers. Every small gesture counts and can make a big difference in the life of a pet in need.

From Animal Park, we thank you in advance for your generosity and commitment to the welfare of our four-legged friends.

Remember, the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be measured by the way its animals are treated. Thank you for making the Canary Islands a better place for our pets!
